Beverley and North Holderness - Maintenance Works
The works undertaken by the Board can be either be classed as "Maintenance Works" which are undertaken regularly or "Capital Works". Capital Works are generally specific works relating to improvement of the watercourse system or the construction and/or replacement of headwalls, culverts and the like.
The Board maintain their watercourses using own workforce and some contract labour.
Annual maintenance includes:
- grass cutting
- weed cutting and sludging
- debris removal
- pumping station and structures maintenance
Grass cutting works are commenced from mid July. Other works are undertaken all year round and when access permits.
Sludging works are carried out on a rolling programme or when a specific need is identified.
Landowners/occupiers affected by the proposals are wherever possible advised in advance by the Board's Foreman.
All Ratepayers receive a formal Notice of Entry as required under the Land Drainage Act 1991 with their Annual Rates Demand Notice.
Capital Works
No capital works are scheduled in the financial year.
